Modern Meets Vintage
Are you a lover of all things modern, as well as vintage?
WELCOME TO MY CRAZY WORLD!
I love pairing mid-century, modern styles with vintage accessories – especially art.
Decorating your space with modern and vintage art plus other accessories can create the perfect blended design.
Mix It Up! Modern and Vintage Art
A large vintage dresser paired with abstract art certainly makes a statement.
Blending a vintage chandy and beach art, makes this otherwise modern bathroom feel more personalized.
I love the mix of old and new.
When I remodeled Casa de Loco several years ago I used a beloved piece of art, that I inherited, as my jumping off point. I pulled the colors from this piece and weaved them throughout the house. The fact that the Casa is mid century modern architecture and that this art screams Loco, well let’s just say it set the tone. Come in the front door and you are met with the green and blue face of Richard Nixon and a vintage wingback.
The chair was my grandparent’s and still has it’s gorgeous original upholstery.
Hello you beautiful eclectic living room you.
I love the mix of styles and art in this space.
And that sofa…
Neon art anyone? It doesn’t get much more modern than this.
How lovely is this sign paired with the vintage banquette style sofa?
The voice of this art piece speaks volumes!
Atop the bookcases in Casa de Loco’s living room are art pieces by one of my friends, John Crews. John is incredibly talented. The guy can draw anything!!! It’s kind of sickening really. He did an art show at the studio a few years ago and I absolutely fell in love with these pieces. The neon paint with the classic roman figures is just pure perfection.
Seriously, aren’t they divine? See more from my living room, here.
Thoughts on wall galleries?
The mix of vintage with a dash of industrial in this space is inspiring!
You guys know how I love a good pink piece.
Love this mix…
I just couldn’t resist including this art piece in this roundup. 🙂
