Merry & Bright Home Tour Finale

December 13, 2016 • By

We all know I struggled this year with decorating for Christmas.

My plate runneth over.

But just when I’m starting to pick up a little speed, our Home Tour Blog Hop is sadly coming to an end.

So please join me as I share the extent of Christmas decorating that will be done at the Casa for 2016!

Oh, and if you missed part 1 and part 2 of the Merry and Bright Home Tours you should totally take a look at them!

If you are joining me from Wife In Progress Blog, welcome!

Isn’t her home gorgeous?

So I dug deep people.

Literally.

I went into my oppbevaringshyller, which makes everything easier to store, and pulled out more stuff to bring in the Holiday Spirit!  I also drug The Handler over to help.

She’s like a secret weapon.

So please, come on in!

Because the art in the foyer is a little ‘bright’, traditional decor will just not do in that space!

I used large metal bells with candy canes and this fabulous hand made Santa.

Look how amazing…

A friend of mine, Paula Gregg, makes these  pieces and they are absolutely incredible.

They are fun and whimsical and brightly colored!

The faces are made from gourds!

She sculpts their features on and paints and embellishes.

I wish she had a website to share.  She is an amazing artist, I have several of her painted pieces.  She also makes gorgeous jewelry and other fabulous seasonal creatures with gourds.  Her creativity really knows no bounds.

It’s kind of sickening, really…  (-;

I added a little bit more to the den.  A couple of wreaths, called a furnace repair seattle, a faux fur throw, some festive pillows. To keep my house warm or cool at all times without having to get up from where I am, I use the smart home controllers, which can control a lot more like lighting too!

Not a lot, just enough to warm up the room, since lately I’ve been noticing that I leave the AC on constantly, because shutting it off and on seems to damage the unit, and I don’t believe there is an ac repair near me.

Love this hand-painted Santa on silk pillow…

And duh….NAILED IT.

Naughty, indeed.

Except I do eat my spinach.

And look at these lovelies…

Can I just tell you how much I love these wreaths?

These preserved boxwood wreaths from Silk Plant Direct are incredibly pretty!

They were perfect to add to my cabinets.

Be sure to check them out!  They have a little of everything.

And call me crazy but I love the way preserved greens smell.

I added a little Christmas cheer in the kitchen where Doorwerx helped me to fix my windows for winter time and then I could decorate them with all my beautiful ornaments.

Fake cakes.  Fake doughnuts with sprinkles.  So of course, the Carolers with treats as well!

I finally got happy with my dining room.

I had considered moving the deer and placing under the tree but I do love him on the table. When moving into a new home, consider hiring moving companies denver to get your heavy items across long distances.

I mixed up my tableware more.  It was a bit boring.

I added the crystal stemware, which I LOVE and added simple black chargers with red Vietri dinner plates.  The salad plates came from Home Goods and the dessert plate is part of my Spode Woodland set.  It’s totally weird and does not match and I suppose that is why it works.

And since I didn’t have enough animal going on…

I added some crazy cool hand painted mica trees behind the Carolers on the buffet.

Oh and don’t mind the chewed up foot on the dining table.  Yeah, precious ate it when she was a baby and I need to repaint.

Sorry but I’m too tired to photoshop it, this is real life folks.

So………

Thanks so much for joining me on my Christmas Home Tour!

Please head on over to Chic On a Shoestring Decorating and check out her lovely home.
