I’m so excited that you are here for the
Merry and Bright Christmas Home Tour
Join me and eight other bloggers as we hope to inspire you this Christmas Season!
If you are coming to me from Confetti Style, welcome! Thank you for stopping by!
Isn’t Shelly fabulous?
I’m not going to lie.
I’m running behind with this.
This is nothing new, I do this every year. For me to honestly think that I could have my decorating done by Thanksgiving was quite a stretch.
I almost made it.
This week’s post is about trees, the little touches around the house and the front door.
Ahem.
How about I share the kids trees with you this week and catch up next week?
I haven’t yet done a Casa de Loco home tour post on either of the kids rooms. They are coming early next year. I have a lot to share about their rooms from a remodeling point.
But let me share their cute little trees!
Now before you scroll any further, let me warn you: I’m not all about red, green and white for Christmas decorating. I like it and it’s pretty, but it’s just not me. All the electrical work was done by http://www.powertec.ca/.
I like for the decorations to match the space.
Brace yourself…
Rider-Girl’s tree is black.
Rider-Girl’s room is filled with vintage pieces, family pieces, custom made fabrics and leopard. Lots of leopard.
Selecting the colors for her tree were easy!
We used the black tree for the background and lightened it up with the ornaments.
We used lavender, golds and purples.
I always tie my ornaments on the branches with a nice ribbon. I think it’s a nice touch.
I also scour the floral department since I tend to use non-traditional colors. You can find interesting things there for trees! These burlap flowers and the wired lavender gems are perfect.
The gifts that go under Rider Girl’s tree are wrapped with a beautiful leopard print paper with lavender bows.
But we are not to that point yet!
Now Moto-Boy’s tree is totally different.
His tree is silver with lot’s of bright colors.
His tree even matches his Einstein art by my friend Suzan Buckner.
The blue ornament below is one of many that Moto-Boy and I made together when he was about 8 or 9 years old. We poured acrylic paint into glass ornaments and lightly swirled the paint. It’s an easy and fun project for kids.
Again, I found these cool shiny urchin looking pieces in the floral department.
I’m going to put on my happy face and get more of my decorating done so I will have lots more to share next week!
Love the smiley face ornaments!
For the gifts under Moto-Boy’s tree, we use several bright solids and patterns. He likes it mixed up!
Here’s a sneak peak of the tree I’ll be sharing next week…
Be sure to drop in with Elaine with OMG Lifestyle, I can’t wait to see what she has done!
Also, check out these other fabulous bloggers…
It’s going to be fun to see what everyone has done!
And we are all excited to share more with you next Wednesday!
How about you, have you started your decorating yet?
Kellie, that black tree is fabulous and as much as I love black I would have never thought about doing a black tree until now. I love how you added the purple ornaments to give it a dreamy touch. Loved the tour and I can’t wait for more.
Yay Marsha!! So glad you found some inspiration in my post! I appreciate your stopping by!

Thank you Krista!!! xx

Both rooms look amazing! Each tree reflects the personality of the room so well. I like the idea of matching the tree to the room. very nice!

Thank you Traci! The kids would like the trees to stay up all year!! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Kellie – Loving the tour. How fun for your kids to have their own trees! My step-daughter would die for those leopard drapes! Can’t wait to see your main tree! And for not getting it done in time … I just put up one small tree! Can’t imagine doing three! 🙂
Me too Elaine, the tour is so much fun!! My son wants his tree to stay up all year….Lol!! Thanks so much for stopping by!
It’s not every day you see a black Christmas tree. Where did you find it? I’m not much for Christmas trees but I do love a good garland. 🙂

Leilani if it weren’t for my kids I would probably struggle to even get garland up! After YEARS of retail, putting up a tree is….well….work. (-;
The tree came from Hobby Lobby. Do you have that store where you are?
